36 Days of Type is a yearly challenge inviting designers, illustrators and graphic artists to express their interpretation of the letters and numbers of our alphabet. One character each day, for 36 days.
By the time I discovered 36 Days of Type, I was already knee deep in my own series, Type Exploration, focussed on the exact same idea.
Right idea, but wrong title, wrong time of year.
I’d missed out on what could have been some great exposure and some tasty internet points, but I still couldn’t be happier with the result.
Each poster explores a different character in a different way, taking cues from the letter form itself to inform the overall design. Bring them all together as one and they feel as cohesive as the alphabet itself.
This series was created using a combination of Photoshop, Illustrator and Cinema 4D.
